Things To Do and Places To Go
St Ives is a quaint fishing town which is also renowned for it''s galleries and craft studios, The Tate Gallery, the Barbra Hepworth museum and the Bernard Leach are just a few places to visit, along with the beautiful beaches and stunning scenery. St Ives often wins the Britain in Bloom competition. With it''s picturesque fishing harbour and quaint fishermen''s cottages in winding streets it is truly a wonderful place to visit.
For the walkers among you this area has arguably some of the best coastline in Cornwall. Walk to Lelant and reward yourself with the return journey on the branch line train which is the most stunning journey you will ever make in Cornwall. The view to Godrevey lighthouse is amazing and the beaches are also stunning you have Porthmeor which is a favourite for surfers and Porthminster. There are also boat trips to Seal Island where you might be lucky enough to catch site of the seals.
Carbis Bay is also a lovely place to visit with nice beaches and boasts some quite stunning views.
Hayle is renowned for it''s three miles of golden sands and it''s beautiful towans. There are also shops, pubs and supermarkets for all your supplies.
While you are here you must visit the world famous Eden Project in St Austell, there is also Flamards theme park for the children in Helston with it''s Victorian Village. Or how about a helicopter ride from Penzance to the Scilly Isles. There is also Mounts Bay which you can walk to depending on the tides which is also worth a visit. There is so much to do and see here that you will be spoilt for choice.
There is also horse riding at the local riding school which is only about half a mile away from the campsite, for the horsey ones among you.
